I added the 18g flick weight to my engage pursuit pro1, bringing the total weight to 9.4oz. I thought this would be too heavy since I’ve never gone above 9oz in paddle weight but the extra weight being in the handle gave my swing for drives and volleying a more solid, stable feel. I’ve only played one session with the flick weight thus far but I’m optimistic about keeping this weight set-up. Great customization option for a very reasonable price
I’ve had a lot of people suggest speedcaps but it never appealed to me having to undo my grip and reading reviews about the loose buttcap. I came across flick weight from Braydon at pickleball effect. The idea of just sticking the weight on the stock buttcap is a plus(I’m lazy).I setup my paddle heavy with weighted tape (4.5g at each corner), and while I benefited from more stable counters and enhanced sweetspot, it’s been physically demanding to execute rolls and flicks. I ordered the 18g variant to help my game by increasing paddle head speed and reducing physical demand on my wrists and forearms. Even though this adds more static weight, it will increase paddle maneuverability. Overall very impressed with my purchase and would recommend serious athletes of all levels to give this a try.
